Especially in Florida where a power outage occurs frequently you should not only protect your expensive Computer and Hi-Fi equipment with batteries and surge protectors, but also protect your investment into your in-door air quality system: Prepare your AC-System against the high voltage surge and possible after-effects of a power outage.
Just in case you are affected by a total damage of your Air Conditioner – you would have been happy if you would have had thought about an affordable way to proactively protect your equipment in the forehand.
Gulf Shore Cooling, Inc. offers you the Hurricane Storm Kit to help preventing damages caused by a power outage in the best possible way and for an affordable price.
The Hurricane Storm Kit contains three components, which work together as a generic multi-level protector.

This smart little box has a great value. The Lightning Arrestor is an effective way to protect against High Voltage Surge. It attempts to regulate the voltage supplied to your Air Conditioning System by either blocking or by shorting to ground voltages above a safe threshold.

Having a Time Delay Relay (TDR) installed is a wise decision. It protects the Air Conditioning System against short cycling of the AC-Compressor from power interruption (i.e. after general power outage) and thermostat problems. The time delay relay is usually set for a delay of up to 5 minutes after the last time the compressor was energized.

Most single phase air conditioners use non-bleed thermostatic expansion valves (TXV’s) to control refrigerant. A problem with TXV’s occurs when a reciprocating compressor shuts off and refrigerant pressures don’t fully equalize. When the compressor tries to start, there’s too much load for the starting motor torque to overcome. This is especially true if the supply voltage is low. To increase starting torque, a start assist device such as our Hard Start Kit is a good investment.
